Intelligent Church

When we looked at the subject of "inclusion" in the series on intelligent church we looked at how Jesus reached out to all kinds of people sinners, outcasts, lepers God makes no distinction between persons - He gave His Son for the whole world.  We were drawn to this definition of what an inclusive church would be:

Serving and respecting all people regardless of their gender, marital status, race, ethnic origin, religion, age, sexual orientation or physical and mental capacity.

It may be something for our Kirk Session to consider.

Hospitals and Sick Visiting.

Please let me know when folks are needing a visit - I am in Victoria and Queen Margaret Hospitals every week but usually see less than half the Burntisland folks who are there, because I don't know about the others. It's frustrating for me and it's hurtful for folks who are wondering why the minister hasn't been in.  Please keep reminding me too of folks who are ill long term.  In a busy schedule I can sometimes lose track, and a reminder is helpful.

Incredibly the hospital authorities now prevent ministers from knowing who from their church is in hospital - even when patients have been asked for their church affiliation. The given reason for this is the data protection act.
